Requests for custom prints

The dabstudios.com online print fulfillment service, Shutterfly Pro Galleries, can print wallet, 4"x6", 5"x7", 8"x10", 11"x14", 16"x20" and 20"x30" on professional photographic paper using state-of-the-art digital minilabs and presses. Any print sizes other than those listed can be special ordered by sending your request by email to .  Describe what you would like and we will give you a quoted price for the print.  We will contact you after reciving a custom print request to verify the order and to discuss any issues regarding your request.

Examples of custom prints that we have done for customers include:

• Up to 30"x60" posters on pearl, matte or metallic paper from a professional print shop.
• 8"x12" digital minilab prints from a local consumer or professional lab.
• 36"x48" professional color pigment-based inkjet prints (giclee).
• Up to 4'x8' fine art quality Lightjet prints from Calypso Digital Imaging.
• Up to 13"x19" fine art quality black & white prints.
• Up 8"x10" professional quality dye-sub prints.

Requests for Custom Image Editing

dabstudios.com has the ability to accommodate almost any request for custom edits of an image or images.  We can custom edit images taken by our photographers or by you.  Examples of custom image editing that we have done for customers include:

• Edit, crop and correct the exposure, white balance and contrast on a batch of images.  Typical time required is 30-60 minutes for 50 images.
• "Cut-out" a subject from the image background and optionally alter either the background or subject.  Typical time required is 30-45 minutes.
• Remove undesired artifacts in the image.  Typical time required is 15-45 minutes, but may be more for complex artifact removal.
• Restore color to an image scanned from faded 35mm film.  Typical time required is 15 minutes, but may be more for scans from some film types.
• Combine portions of multiple images into one image to correct defects such as one person's eyes being closed in a group shot, where that group shot is the best shot available.  Typical time required is 30-45 minutes.
• Prepare an image or images for use in a digital video or digital slideshow.  Typical time required is 15 minutes for 50 images.
• Prepare thumbnail or reduced images for use on a web site.  Typical time required is 15 minutes for 100 images.

Rates for custom image editing are $100/hour with a 1/4 hour minimum.

Requests for Film Scanning

dabstudios.com has the ability to scan color or black & white 35mm transparencies (slides) or negatives at up to 5400ppi using a professional dedicated film scanner.  Images created from the film scanning can be delivered as 16-bit TIFF format images to preserve all the scanned information, or they can be delivered as 8-bit TIFF or JPEG format images.  We can deal with older film that has been damaged or faded, bringing the image color back to original condition for some types of film. 

Film Scanning Prices

Prices include the necessary CDs or DVDs to hold the scanned images.  Prices for additional image processing beyond scanning are described in the Custom Image Editing tab.  Prices listed do not include shipping and taxes.  Prices listed are per scanned film frame.
